About
My name is Julie Hayden-Blackburn. I earned a Master’s Degree in Sport Psychology from JFKU in 2017. I have my Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Michigan State University. I have lived in the Bay Area of San Francisco for 10 years and have previously lived in Michigan, Texas, North Carolina and South Carolina. I am extremely passionate about gymnastics and currently specialize in private practice working with gymnasts and their communities, educating and advocating for a motivational climate that promotes a healthy physical, mental, and emotional experience for all. I am the Assistant Fieldwork Director on the Fieldwork Team in Sport Psychology at JFKU, driven to provide a rewarding and challenging internship experience for our Master’s students. I believe that JFKU offers an unparalleled applied curriculum and am proud to be part of this fun and hard-working team. I teach for both the BA Psychology and the MA in Sport Psychology departments at JFKU specializing in Fieldwork preparation and execution. I love to travel with my husband, dance, dine, and snuggle with my doggy, Nina! I also love to converse about life, love, and all things gymnastics!
