John F. Kennedy University is proud to be hosting the annual Ms. Wheelchair California Competition and we hope you will join us in recognizing and empowering those with disabilities at this exciting, inspiring, and one-of-a-kind event! The theme of this year’s competition will be Leap into Leadership.

As a guest, you will hear speeches from each of our participants and contribute to the selection of a “roll” model to represent others with disabilities in a society where so few of such role models exist. The newly crowned Ms. Wheelchair California will go on to compete for Ms. Wheelchair America this summer.

This is not a beauty pageant— participants in the competition will be developing their advocacy skills while networking with a unique group of accomplished women and raising awareness of the potential for all citizens with disabilities.

This event is brought to you as a collaboration between the Hispanic-Serving Institution grant at John F. Kennedy University and Ms. Wheelchair California. It will be the first in a series of events celebrating inclusivity in our JFKU community. We look forward to seeing you there!
