Subsequent to our celebration of the first ever International Pronouns Day, JFKU’s efforts to raise awareness surrounding the LGBTQ community experience continues with this installation of the Soapbox series aimed at sharing stories and facilitating further cultural understanding.

This installation of the Soapbox is the result of an exciting new partnership between JFKU and the Rainbow Community Center, a Concord-based nonprofit offering institutional trainings to strengthen cultural competency and understanding of diversity, inclusion, and cultural humility.
Members of the organization will join us to share personal stories, including challenges and rewards, from the journey toward inclusivity.

“This topic is something that impacts everyone,” says Benisa Berry, Diversity and Inclusion Officer at JFKU. No matter what field you’re in, humans need to be aware of each other in order to successfully interact. “People are at different levels of knowing about this,” continues Berry. “It’s important to get everyone on the same page, and we are creating a safe, non-judgmental environment for students, staff, and our broader community to do so.” We hope you’ll join us!
