Students who have not yet satisfied the university’s service learning requirement and have SVL4000 or SVL5000 on their degree plan may register for these courses now. La Posada & End of Year Celebrations Across Cultures
Did you experience La Posada? The Undergraduate Success Center and Office of Student Experience hosted La Posada for the second year running. Coffee, hot chocolate and pan dulce (sweet bread) were provided with an opportunity to learn more about La Posada and the many celebrations enjoyed across cultures at the end of the calendar year. La Posada was hosted at each campus between December 4 and 6, 2017.
December’s Thursday Soapbox
John F. Kennedy University Lecture and Event Series Thursday Soapbox, continues the tradition of hosting cutting-edge thinkers and practitioners from around the world. Covering a wide range of topics of vital importance in today’s world, the “Thursday Soapbox Series” will bring together students, faculty, and interested members of the public to spread knowledge, spark dialogue and create a more informed, involved citizenry.

It’s about that time of year when the seasons turn and the articles begin to appear about how much weight the average American will gain over the upcoming holiday season. How can we strike a balance between maintaining our healthy eating habits but not feeling constantly deprived during this celebratory time of year? Join JFK University’s Health Education program chair and faculty Dr. Fall Ferguson for a discussion of useful approaches we all can take to eat with greater awareness during the holidays, allowing us to enjoy those tasty treats in moderation without raising feelings of guilt or self-judgment.
