In this intermediate course, online participants will learn how to provide support to clients, family members, caregivers and loved ones as they face the death and dying experience. Instructions will be given on how to facilitate multiple aspects of the dying process including: grief & loss, existential and cultural issues, legal and practical affairs. Several intervention techniques will be introduced. Material will be taught from a holistic and existential-humanistic perspective.
Instructor : Michael Stepehns, MFT, CMT
Michael has been working with end of life issues both professionally and personally for almost 20 years. He has worked with the chronically ill, the dying, and the bereaved in various capacities at a number of hospice and healthcare agencies including Kaiser Hospice, Sutter Care At Home, and the Cancer Resource Center. Michael is a practicing licensed clinician. He teaches continuing education to healthcare professionals, and he has taught classes at public and private universities. Michael is currently program manager for the End-of-Life Compassionate Care Program being offered through Brown & Toland Medical Group.

Course Completion Time Limit
You will have 90 days to complete the online course from the date of registration. You may request 30 day extensions for a fee of $35.
