This online course provides an introduction to the fundamental skills used in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). Learn basic theoretical concepts and clinical applications of CBT for the treatment of depression. Topics will include the “how-to’s” of structuring a session, outcome measures, and homework design. Learn key CBT interventions such as activity scheduling and thought records. After taking this course, you will be able to integrate basic CBT skills immediately into your practice.
This course has audio/visual components and text content divided into 6 lessons. You will see and listen to lectures and be directed to read text materials and watch videos. The quizzes and final exam may be repeated as necessary. Videos are not closed captioned.
Instructor: Kristen Valus, PsyD, is a licensed clinical psychologist with a private practice in Cary, North Carolina. Dr. Valus specializes in cognitive behavioral treatment of mood and anxiety disorders in adults, and provides training in cognitive behavioral therapy to professionals. She is a Founding Fellow of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy.

Course Completion Time Limit
You will have 90 days to complete the online course from the date of registration. You may request 30 day extensions for a fee of $35.
