The Sanford Institute of Philanthropy at John F. Kennedy University has been established to offer a range of high-quality educational opportunities to further strengthen nonprofit organizations in the Bay Area. Founded by entrepreneur and philanthropist, T. Denny Sanford, the Institute focuses on preparing exemplary leaders of these organizations, and providing the support needed to be successful in making a difference in the world. Throughout the year, the Institute will offer seminars and webinars, with a strong emphasis on developing fundraising, sustainable strategies and cause selling models.

About Our Founder - Denny Sanford
Mr. Sanford has always believed in sharing his success with others. Inspired by big-picture movements like the Giving Pledge, founded by Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, Mr. Sanford has pledged to give the majority of his fortune away to charity, and to work tirelessly to make the world a better place through philanthropy and education. As entrepreneur and philanthropist, T. Denny Sanford, surveyed the nonprofit environment, he noticed a deficit in programs that teach necessary fundraising and leadership skills. Out of this awareness, he launched the Sanford Institute of Philanthropy at the National University School of Business and Management in 2014.

Fundraising Skills for Today’s 21st Century Nonprofit Leaders
The Fundraising Academy offers a comprehensive curriculum of fundraising training courses designed to enhance fundraising capabilities for nonprofit leaders interested in or currently working in fundraising and/or development roles.
These goals are accomplished through over 30 nonprofit training courses, which introduce participants to the advantages of using technology, marketing and social media strategies, innovative and practical business applications, and more.
A Blueprint for More Effective Fundraising
The only textbook of its kind, Cause Selling – The Sanford Way, written by Dr. David J. Lill and Jennifer Lill, and based on the vision of philanthropist T. Denny Sanford is now available. The book is the foundation for a series of seminars offered by the Sanford Institute of Philanthropy.
