Funding Information Network Resources

The Sanford Institute of Philanthropy at John F. Kennedy University is a Funding Information Network partner of the Foundation Center. The Funding Information Network is comprised of libraries, community foundations, NGOs, and nonprofit resource centers across the country and around the world. Like Foundation Center’s regional hubs in Atlanta, Cleveland, New York, San Francisco, and Washington, DC, each Funding Information Network partner provides free access to the best and most comprehensive information available on foundation and corporate giving. All locations feature Foundation Center resources and fundraising research guidance, other funding-related technical assistance, and professional staff to assist visitors. Many also offer workshops and programs for local nonprofits.

Foundation Directory Online gives you access to hard to find funders, plus the most effective tools to organize and manage your foundation’s fundraising process. Foundation Directory Online Professional provides subscribers with access to an unprecedented wealth of timely, comprehensive information on grantmakers and their grants. Included is a database of the entire universe of over 140,000 foundations, corporate giving programs, and grantmaking public charities in the U.S.; a database of over 4,000 sponsoring companies, offering a quick pathway to corporate funders; a database of over 5 million recently awarded grants; and a keyword-searchable database of over 1 million recently filed IRS Forms 990 and 990-PF.

Available for use on the Pleasant Hill Campus only. For more information about the Funding Information Network, please contact the FIN Supervisor at
