Beyond Hollywood blockbusters, Silicon Valley Techno, and Napa Valley wines, California has many artisanal food producers who are passionate about their unique products. Brightfern Specialty Foods is busy curating a selective and well researched set of artisan products and providing them to their online and "offline" customers.
Founded in 2014, Brightfern is based in Concord, California. Its mission is to provide an original selection of artisanal, (hands-on versus machine-based), products from all over California. Their phase 1 focus has been on extra virgin olive oils and vinegars. They continue to develop strong relationships with specialty food producers, providing their customers with "farm-to-table" products. They sell their products online at www.brightfern.com and ship all over the United States.
Bart Bright taught, brokered food products and founded a Day Camp before starting Brightfern with his friend, Chris Fernandes. Bart's favorite product is Brightfern's lemon olive oil.
Chris Fernandes, investor and co-founder, is an engineering veteran of several Silicon Valley technology companies. He grew up and currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and has a passion for the operational side of Brightfern. Chris is crazy about Brightfern's California Golden Balsamic Vinegar!
JFK's Institute of Entrepreneurial Leadership gave me the resources to become a success. Their network of mentors and successful entrepreneurs provided valuable advice and support during our startup phase and beyond. IEL has played a large part in our success! - Bart Bright
