Doreen Maller is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Associate Professor and Chair of the Holistic Counseling Psychology department at John F Kennedy University. Her teaching focuses primarily on Systemic and Human relationships. She is the series editor for the Praeger Handbook of Community Mental Health Practice (2013) and co-editor of the Praeger Handbook of Aging and Mental Health (2017). Her publications include chapters in The Sourcebook in Expressive Arts Therapy, Beyond the Burning Bra and The Encyclopedia of School Crime and Violence. Dr. Maller has presented nationally and internationally on a variety of topics including Family Systems and Addiction, Trauma, Neuroplasticity and Expressive Arts. Dr. Maller made a mid-life pivot from corporate leadership to study human systems; she holds a Master’s in Counseling Psychology and a PhD in Transformative Learning both from the California Institute of Integral Studies and is therapist in private practice in San Mateo, California.
