PSY5303 Child, Adolescent and Family Therapy: Assessment and Treatment A

Course Description

This course is part of a two quarter sequence with 5304 & is taken with the same instructor. Part one focuses on the history of assessment & diagnosis using the DSM-5 related to children and adolescents. DSM-5 diagnoses will be explored from various viewpoints through using both formal and informal assessment tools; differential diagnosis; neuropsychology findings; and a bio-psycho-social approach. Topics include developmental theories, case conceptualization and the introduction of treatment planning through a multicultural & systemic lens.
