JOU3200 Digital Media Basics

Course Description

The new century has brought change and an intertwining of media once completely separate. Video, audio, and print journalism now often work in concert in an interactive digital world to tell the story in the most effective way possible. This course focuses on the tools journalists use in the convergence environment. It gives students a strong foundation in the new media tools integral to newsgathering, storytelling, audience engagement, and dissemination. Students will gain familiarity with popular social media and blog outlets, as well as the tools for working with pictures, video, graphics, links, and other digital elements.
