Entrepreneurship Certificate Program


The Entrepreneurship Certificate Program prepares current or prospective business owners, or intrepreneurs within a company, with the key concepts of entrepreneurialism.

Students receive individualized, in-depth one-on-one mentoring from instructors who are also successful entrepreneurs. Students will receive insight into real-world practical experiences while studying the fundamentals of innovation in entrepreneurship. Concepts can be pertinent to all businesses, including for-profit and nonprofit entities.

Coursework applies toward a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Through a combination of an entrepreneurial certificate and a bachelor’s degree, students will be well-positioned for a career as a competitive entrepreneur or intrapreneur. The programs are designed to strengthen the skills needed for startup ventures and existing corporate entities.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this certificate, students will be capable of:

  • Developing a business and marketing plan
  • Selecting and organizing employees and management teams
  • Effectively working with investors and lenders
  • Recognizing capital opportunities
  • Developing a blue ocean strategy
  • Identifying and handling small business legal issues


Applicants must have completed a minimum of 45 lower-division quarter units (30 semester units), and have a 2.0 GPA. Applicants must submit a JFK University application and Statement of Intent describing their professional and educational experience and their interest in attaining a certificate. Applicants must forward official transcripts from all colleges and universities they attended.
