Lisa S. Hutton has been the Legal Studies Program Chair since 2004 and chair of the Criminal Justice Leadership program since 2014.

In February, 2009 she led the Program in achieving approval by the American Bar Association, giving JFK University the distinction of offering the only ABA-approved Bachelor's Degree in Northern California.

Before developing the Legal Studies Program, Lisa taught at JFK University's College of Law and was an associate attorney with Rankin, Sproat, Mires, Beaty & Reynolds practicing insurance defense litigation in Oakland, California.

She is a member of the Contra Costa County Bar Association, the American Association for Paralegal Educators, and is currently serving as John F. Kennedy University's Faculty Senate President.
