Hispanic Serving Institution Federal Grant

John F. Kennedy University received a $2.6 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education to provide additional support to its Hispanic students. Recognized as a Hispanic Serving Institution, the University places great importance on understanding the cultural needs of its entire student population.

Through this generous award, the University now has the opportunity to build a dedicated center with a lending library, as well as appoint staff, tutors, and mentors to provide academic guidance to Hispanic students. This recent initiative serves to better the educational experience for diverse students by giving them a sense of belonging, and by helping them grow and succeed in reaching their academic goals. By enhancing Hispanic students’ educational journey, they will be better equipped to thrive in school and strengthen the entire community. President Debra Bean and University faculty are honored to share this recognition from the U.S. Department of Education.
