In many ways, decision-making is the lifeblood of organizations and a process that forms an inherent part of a nonprofit’s fundraising efforts. Whether big or small, annual or daily, decisions at every juncture mobilize us in the direction we aim to go. Or so we hope! According to Steve Scheier, our speaker for the session, getting clear on the process of decision-making itself can transform an organization from the inside out, improving internal communications, organizational morale, and overall efficiency.
“This topic is about getting your act together internally so you can be more effective externally,” explains Solomon Belette, Director of the Sanford Institute of Philanthropy at John F. Kennedy University. Founder of the Decision Clarity Group and author of Do More Good Better, Scheier will present a clarifying decision-making model to help us better understand just how decisions are made and how the internal dynamics of an organization can be strengthened. Participants will have the opportunity to debrief on past decisions, including fundraising decisions; reflect critically on how it all went; and brainstorm new strategies for the future.
