The first thing to know about applying for financial aid to support your attendance at JFKU is that our staff is a key resource for you. The Financial Aid Office is located on the university's Pleasant Hill Campus, 100 Ellinwood Way, Pleasant Hill. Call the Financial Aid Office at 925.969.3385 or e-mail at:
finaid@jfku.edu.
Office hours are 10 am to 6 pm on Monday through Thursday, and 9 am to 5 pm on Friday. Appointments are not necessary for the Pleasant Hill office. Periodically, financial aid counselors visit the Campbell Campus; appointments are available. Please call the Campbell Campus at 408.379.9840 for specific dates and times.
All students applying for aid must complete the JFKU Supplemental Information Sheet and Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Federal Stafford and Federal PLUS loans require additional application forms. Contact the Financial Aid Office for information and forms. Private funding sources often have separate applications as well.
When should I apply for aid?
As soon as possible. Deadlines vary according to the type of award offered. Students who submit required documents by the deadlines published in the financial aid application materials will receive priority consideration for all available funds.
March 2 is the priority deadline for the Federal Perkins Loan, the Federal Supplemental Opportunity Grant, the Cal Grant A and B, and the John F. Kennedy University Scholarship. Applications received after the priority filing deadline will be considered for remaining funds, if any, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Loan applications should be submitted to the Financial Aid Office at least two to three months prior to the term of intended enrollment.
What is the maximum amount of aid I may receive?
The Financial Aid Office packages various forms of financial aid for which the student is eligible. While the amount of aid may vary depending on financial need and availability of funding, awards for undergraduate and graduate students may be made up from the following sources up to these annual maximums:
