Career Counseling

The Career Center is staffed by counselors who are advanced students in JFKU's Career Development program. They bring a wealth of knowledge from their own life and work experiences to their roles as career counselors. This wide variety of experience coupled with their training in the career development field enables them to work successfully with a wide variety of clients. They are supervised by experienced career counselors.

The counselors work with clients in the following areas: career assessment, clarification of values and goals, career management, and job search strategies which includes resume writing, interview preparation, networking and salary negotiation.

Counseling appointments are available in person or over the phone. Call 925.969.3542 or email career@jfku.edu to schedule an appointment.

Career Counseling is free for JFKU students and alumni. The public fee is $50.00 per session.

Testing and Assessment
As part of the career counseling process clients often find it helpful to use career-related tests to clarify their goals. These tests are both standardized and non-standardized instruments that assess career interest, skills, values and personality. Tests are administered in conjunction with a career counseling session. Each test is priced individually and is separate from the cost of counseling sessions.
