The event features a performance by "Sistahs of the Drum", a Bay area based group of African American women that includes JFKU alums Angela Niles and Simbwala Schultz. Also on hand will be contest judge Evangeline Canonizado Buell, author of Twenty-Five Chickens and A Pig for a Bride and co-author of Filipinos in the East Bay.

Light refreshments, prepared by the Department of Holistic Health Education, will be served.

A donation of $10/person, payable at the door, is suggested for the event. This donation goes toward the Essay Contest in Malawi.*
