Solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) is a time-sensitive clinical approach that is particularly useful and relevant given the current demand for cost-effective and outcome oriented approaches from clinics and HMOs. SFBT is a future focused, goal-directed, collaborative approach in which questions act as interventions to tap clients' motivation, creativity, underutilized strengths and resources. While the basic techniques are easily learned, true clinical effectiveness requires both an in-depth understanding of the theory and a skillful application of these techniques.

Through lecture, demonstration, videos and experiential exercises, participants will develop this theoretical understanding, and be prepared to use SFBT in their current practice.
