Course Description

As growing numbers of baby boomers join the ranks of seniors in this country, they find themselves entering a stage of life not always respected by current culture. This workshop provides an integrative, holistic model to help nurses and other healthcare professionals and interested persons enable seniors to make positive health and lifestyle choices and optimize their living situation.

Participants will discuss the following topics: the myth of aging as a disease; seniors’ nutrition, exercise, and intimacy needs; elder laws and advocating for elders; and the use of ritual, religion and ceremony to honor and support elders.
