| Financial Management for Nonprofits | ||||||||||||||||
This advanced course is specifically designed to deepen your knowledge of nonprofit financial reporting, so you can better understand the complexities of nonprofit financial information and begin to use that information to make strategic decisions. Through experiential exercises and lecture, participants will examine the content and relationship between statements of financial position, statements of activities and budget-to-actual reports, and will learn advanced skills in financial report interpretation, including the effect of income on organization programs and goals. By the end of the course, participants will be able to implement meaningful metrics and talking points for their own organization, and will better understand their role financial accountability. Participants are encouraged to bring current financial reports from their organization for comparison to the models presented in the workshop. Instructor Biographies Ariana Spiegler, MBA, is a partner at Nonprofit Suite, an organization which provides financial management, accounting and human resource services to nonprofit organizations throughout the Bay Area. A certified management accountant, Ariana received her master’s degree with concentrations in finance and accounting from UC Davis. Annette Cook, MBA, is a partner at Nonprofit Suite, an organization which provides financial management, accounting and human resource services to nonprofit organizations throughout the Bay Area. Annette received her MBA with concentrations in organizational development and strategic management from Golden Gate University. She also earned a Masters of Divinity from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. |
