| EMDR: Theory & Techniques of Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing - Part II | ||||||||||||||||||||
Using lecture, experiential exercises, live demonstrations and video, this course expands on the material presented in Part I of the course and offers additional refinements of the techniques that will enable participants to work effectively using EMDR with a wider range of clients. This course, together with 10 hours of group consultation, completes the basic EMDR training. Covered topics will include: using EMDR with difficult cases, inner resource development and utilization, advanced uses of cognitive interweave, refinements in identifying source events, and a wider variety of applications of EMDR. Participants must be licensed mental health practitioners or supervised interns. Recommended text: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing: Basic Principles, Protocols, and Procedure by Francine Shapiro. Instructor Biography ![]() Philip Manfield, PhD, has been a psychotherapist in private practice in the Bay Area for over 30 years and has taught EMDR in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. In 2001, he was featured in the book 3 Minute Consultations with America’s Greatest Psychotherapists. The author of Split Self/Split Object and editor of EMDR Casebook and Extending EMDR: A Casebook of Innovative Applications, he is currently Northern California Regional Coordinator of the EMDR International Association.
