Master of Arts in Teaching
The MAT is a 60-unit program designed to provide K-12 teachers with theoretical and experiential knowledge of learning, and teaching; and understanding of the problems and potentials of education.
Throughout the program, candidates examine the social, cultural, economic, and political issues facing education. The 60-unit program is comprised of 42 units of preliminary teaching
credential coursework, and an additional 18 unit sequence in which candidates investigate self-selected research questions.
