Teaching Credential: Multiple and Single Subject

The teaching credential program at JFK University is a 42-quarter unit, one-year sequence designed to prepare you to teach at the elementary or secondary level and meet all performance standards required by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. One year and 18-month cohorts are available.

Blending the study of theory with its practical application and teaching practice, you will study with a cohort of peers, developing your teaching skills together as a community of learners. Ultimately, you will work four full days per week at your field placement, where you will spend two to three weeks of solo teaching. JFKU offers Multiple and Single-Subject Credentials and internship credential programs

Teachers also may be interested in the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree program that provides theoretical and experiential knowledge of learning, and teaching; and understanding of the problems and potentials of education.
