PSP5833: Kinesiology (4 units)
This course introduces students to each of the major biophysical subdisciplines of kinesiology: anatomy, biomechanics, exercise physiology, motor control, and sport and exercise psychology. Includes an integrated study of human movement and applies this knowledge to human performance and physical activity across the lifespan. PSP5815: Optimal Performance A (3 units)
Theory and practice of optimal performance are explored in the realm of sport behavior. The course will include information motivation theory, stress management and mental rehearsal. PSP5835: Exercise Psychology (2 units)
This course examines the psychological antecedents and consequences of physical activity relationships. Includes the mental health benefits of exercise as well as motivational factors involved in exercisg and the many variables that influence exercise behavior, e.g., stress, emotional states, anxiety and depression. PSP5800: Sport Psychology (3 units)
This course explores current research in sport psychology and its application, including dynamics of sport participation in individual, group, and team situations. Includes an overview of the theoretical background of the field and the sport psychology techniques used to assist athletes.
