Conflict Resolution

Conflict resolution, also known as mediation, arbitration, or neutral evaluation, involves attempts to resolve disputes with the aid of a neutral third party. Conflicts may arise when two parties hold differing opinions about a particular situation. With sufficient personal awareness, individuals may be able to achieve an amicable outcome of their differences, but impasses often occur. At that point, a neutral third party can be helpful in breaking through barriers and preserving relationships. While third parties listen to the issues and offer suggestions, any resolution of the conflict remains with the parties involved.

JFK University offers several programs and courses that support those aspiring to work in conflict resolution.

The School of Management (SOM) at JFKU offers programs and courses in strategies for communication and team building, organizational behavior, organizational leadership, ethics, and strategic management.
