Psychologist

Psychology consultants study the human mind and human behavior and then work as part of a team with other psychologists and professionals from many different fields. They may be employed in government, industry, education, or clinical settings, such as hospitals, nursing homes, or health care facilities, or they may work in the public school system to provide information about issues of human behavior to teachers, administrators, staff, and students. In addition, psychology consultants may establish a private practice specializing in disciplines such as:

  • clinical psychology,
  • counseling psychology,
  • school psychology,
  • industrial or organizational psychology,
  • developmental psychology,
  • social psychology, or
  • experimental or research psychology.
