Conflict Mediator

Mediation, also known as neutral evaluation, involves an attempt to resolve conflicts or disputes with the aid of a neutral third party. The process is used especially when the parties want to preserve their relationship. Mediators listen to the issues and information and offer suggestions in a confidential and private proceeding. Actual resolution of the dispute, however, rests with the parties involved.

Many mediators volunteer their services or work at community mediation centers that may charge a small or sliding-scale fee. They may be officers of the court.
