FAQs

WHAT IS CONTINUING & EXTENDED EDUCATION AT JFK UNIVERSITY?

JFK University's Continuing & Extended Education (CE) is an institution-wide department that provides highly engaging learning opportunities that support the educational and professional goals of our surrounding communities. Utilizing an expanding range of traditional and innovative delivery methods, CE offers continuing education, professional development, and personal enrichment courses and programs to our region's lifelong learners.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CE CREDIT AND CEUs?

Continuing Education Credit: Continuing & Extended Education (CE) is approved as a provider of continuing education credit for licensure and pre-licensure requirements pertaining to psychologists, mental health professionals, registered nurses, and attorneys. One hour of CE credit is earned for each hour of instruction.

Continuing Education Unit: Continuing & Extended Education (CE) provides Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for all of our Leadership & Management courses, as well as our eCommerce Certificate Program, which abide by the guidelines established by the International Association Continuing Education and Training (IACET). CEUs are nationally recognized units for measuring participation in professional development programs which do not award academic credit. These courses may be appropriate when employers, re-licensure agencies and other authorities require a specific number of hours of study and where noncredit study is acceptable. CEUs may neither be applied to, nor substituted for, graduation or degree requirements. One CEU is earned for 10 hours of instruction.

Participants who enroll at least 48 hours prior to the course start date receive their CE certificate onsite immediately following completion of the course.
