Administrative Services Credential
Application Requirements
- Application/Statistical Information Form. Please type or print legibly on the Application Form. Provide all requested information, sign and date the application.
The information requested on the Statistical Information Form provides the university with a profile of its students and statistical data required for funding from the federal government and foundations. An applicant's admission to the university will not be affected if all questions are not answered.
- Nonrefundable application fee. The nonrefundable application fee must accompany the Application Form. Please make checks payable to John F. Kennedy University.
- Two copies of official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended (this includes schools attended that did not result in a degree, such as a community college). Transcripts not sent directly to the Admissions Office from the issuing institution must remain sealed to be considered official. Transcripts then become the property of the university and will not be returned or released to another party.
- A copy of a valid California Teaching Credential or a valid California services credential, e.g., PPS, Health Services, Media Teacher Services or Rehabilitative Services.
- Evidence of three years teaching or services experience.
- Personal statement: three double-spaced, typewritten pages outlining the reasons for entering educational administration and the reasons for choosing a program with a focus on issues of racial equality, social justice and democracy. Please include your name on your statement.
- Three letters of recommendation: One from applicant's current supervisor and one from a teaching peer attesting to the applicant's qualities as a teacher and potential as a school district administrator.
- Admission interview with an academic advisor. All applicants are required to have an interview. Appointments may be made by calling 408.874.7780. Applicants who live outside the San Francisco Bay Area may arrange a telephone interview.
