Transfer Guidelines for Bachelor Degree Completion Programs
Because John F. Kennedy University offers primarily upper division programs, applicants are expected to have completed a minimum of 30 semester (45 quarter) units of transferable lower division units prior to application or have high potential of completing these requirements through the College Level Examination Program (CLEP), Dantes Subject Standardized Tests (DSST), the John F. Kennedy University Credit by Assessment process (CBA), or by taking approved courses at a community college. Students are not required to have completed all of the Lower Division General Education Breadth Requirements prior to admission.
- Courses completed with a grade D or higher will be considered for transfer credit.
- Units taken to fulfill a Lower Division General Education Breadth requirement cannot be used to satisfy a requirement in the major.
- A maximum of 70 semester (105 quarter) units will be accepted in transfer through a combination of units from a community or junior college, CLEP, Advanced Placement, DSST lower division, military service lower division credit, American Council on Education credit recommendations for lower division credit, and training as a registered nurse.
- A maximum of 6 semester (9 quarter) units of Physical Education units will be accepted in transfer.
- A maximum of 4 semester (6 quarter) units will be accepted from each of the following areas: cooperative work experience and military basic training (DD214 from).
- No credit will be allowed for repeated courses unless repeats are allowed by the offering college.
- All courses transferable to the University of California system are transferable to John F. Kennedy University.
- The following courses are not transferable to John F. Kennedy University: remedial or review courses and vocational/occupational courses.
- The university reserves the right to change transfer policies.
Transfer from a California Community College: Articulation Agreement for all California Community Colleges 2004 - 2006
John F. Kennedy University accepts the Community College Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) and CSU General Education Breadth Requirements:
- Certification is not necessary.
- Full completion of IGETC or CSU GE pattern is not required prior to transfer.
