JFKU
alumni transform lives and change the world in amazing ways—just what you'd expect from the dynamic diversity of students who choose to advance their professional careers through our programs. Here are just a few examples:
- Sharon Rose, MA in Counseling Psychology, is an autism specialist working with the State of Hawaii in the County of Hawaii. She held similar positions with the Morgan Hill (CA) School District and the Cupertino (CA) School District. She says, "I'm blending my skills as an autism specialist with my skills as a Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) intern to work with special-needs clients and their families. This is richer than I knew it would be!"
- Paula Szloboda, BA in Science, Health and Living Systems, MA in Holistic Health Education, and MBA candidate says: "The value in being able to see outside the cultural box can be difficult to quantify. However, this value is not only something that I personally experience; it enables me to serve my community. I use the knowledge I acquired in my JFKU courses in my work with troubled teens to help them make positive choices about their health and life."
- Katherine A. Dey, MA in Career Development, is now the director of Career Services at Mills College. "I loved every minute of my educational experiences at JFKU.
