John F. Kennedy University

Academic Support and Writing Center

The Academic Support  and Writing Center focuses on important success skills, including writing, getting the most from your reading, critical thinking, research papers, study skills, and time management.

The Center can help you at any stage of the writing process; if you're blocked and just need help getting started, if you'd like feedback on a draft, or if you just have a few quick editing questions before you turn in a paper.

Whether you are returning to school after decades away or an experienced writer who needs a second pair of eyes, our goal is to help you become a stronger and more independent writer. When you bring in a draft, we look for patterns of strength and difficulty and offer suggestions for revision. You learn to recognize and correct your own difficulties.

Our services set John F. Kennedy University apart from other universities where writing centers are staffed mostly by undergraduate students with little or no formal training. Here you will work with post-graduate writing instructors who have teaching experience and extensive training; we understand the process from the inside out.

In addition to one-on-one instruction, we offer quarterly workshops that cover a range of relevant writing topics.
