Credit Hours: 6

An introductory workshop for clinicians and interns who currently are, or have an interest in working with adolescent or adult clients who engage in self-harming behaviors. Covered topics will include in the types and causes of self-harming behaviors, methods for conducting a thorough and respectful assessment of a client’s self-harming behaviors, differences between self-harm and suicidal behavior, current and proposed diagnoses, and co-morbid disorders. The course will also provide current treatment recommendations and recent research results.
