HSC4217 Addiction, Health and the Community

Course Description

Addiction, Health and Community is an interdisciplinary and integrative course for understanding and developing a broader repertoire of the social construction of chemical dependency, and progressive modalities for community health advocacy and healing.  Aspects of the pharmacology of drugs, and comparative studies of other global communities are also included.  These issues will be examined through readings, participatory discussion, film, case studies, small group work experiences, and a final collaborative project.  Hybrid and online format.
