Trained as a conservator, Ms. Sterrett is director of Collections and Conservation at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art where she oversees 6 art conservators, the registration department, the collections access team, the library and a research curator. She is particularly inspired by contemporary art and the philosophical and methodological challenges associated with its long-term care and is a leading professional voice in advocating for cross-collaboration for solving these challenges. She has served in conservation departments at the Library of Congress, Philadelphia Museum of Art and National Library of Australia and lectured at Harvard University and the University of Porto in Portugal.
