Chris Gus Kanios, JDFaculty College of Law
Professor Kanios is a full-time member of the College of Law’s core faculty and has taught law for over 25 years. From 1986 - 1996, he was dean of New College of California College of Law in San Francisco.
He was admitted to practice in California in 1980 and worked in a civil litigation firm specializing in labor law (union side) and plaintiff’s personal injury.
His innovative, multidisciplinary course on the Trial of Socrates includes a study/travel component in Greece to visit ancient sites. He has served as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and as Interim Dean during his tenure at JFK University. He also sits on the University’s Faculty Senate Executive Committee and is Chair of its Faculty Quality Committee.
