Mr. Brown joined John F. Kennedy University after completing a six-year term on the California Public Utilities Commission, to which he was appointed by then-Governor Gray Davis in 2001. Prior to his term on the PUC, he was the Public Defender for the City and County of San Francisco from 1979-2001, publicly elected to this position six times. He has taught Evidence and Constitutional Law at several Bay Area law schools and sat on the Board of Trustees of San Francisco Law School.
