Ms. Smith is the Director of the School of Law's Legal Research and Writing Program. Prior to her appointment as a core faculty member, Ms. Smith served as a senior appellate court staff attorney to the California Court of Appeal, First District, from 1999 to 2003. She was a partner in the firm of Wartnick, Chaber, Harowitz, Smith and Tigerman. She has extensive civil trial experience and has tried many cases to verdict before juries in California state courts. She has also served as court appointed counsel to children and adults in confidential juvenile dependency proceedings.
