Mark Guterman, MA, is career coach and trainer for San Francisco-based JVS, principal of MeaningfulCareers.com, and career coach for UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business. He is also the author of Common Sense for Uncommon Times: The Power of Balance in Work, Family, and Personal Life, co-author of ValueSearch, and developer of many training and development programs used extensively by groups and organizations. Mark has taught at John F. Kennedy University for more than 25 years and currently teaches a course in Positive Psychology for their MA program in Sport Psychology. He also does individual career counseling and coaching and consults for organizations in various aspects of career development, leadership and management development, and work/life balance. Some of the organizations he has worked with include: AT&T, Google, Cisco Systems, Wardrobe for Opportunity, California Transplant Donor Network, Xilinx, and Hewlett Packard. He just completed a certificate in Core Strengths Coaching from San Francisco State University and was recently named a Purpose Prize Fellow, given by Encore.org (formerly Civic Ventures), to honor social innovators in their encore careers. Currently teach a one unit course, both online and in residence, using Positive Psychology as a guide to practice and career, in the Sport Psychology Program.
