Karlene oversees all of the internships in the Sport Psychology Program. She also teaches Ethics and Professional Issues in Sport Psychology A and B, Performance Enhancement C, and Developing a Consulting Practice B.
Karlene is also a Mental Training Consultant and works with athletes and teams teaching mental training techniques and team building strategies. She works with athletes in sports such as baseball, gymnastics, skating, tennis and golf, basketball, swimming, softball, volleyball, soccer, football and others.
She was the guest speaker for the First Lady's Luncheon at the 1999 Northern Marianas Sports Challenge in Saipan. She has been a guest speaker for the University of Loughborough in the UK and a guest lecturer at the Rocky Mountain University of Health Professionals in Utah. She was the keynote speaker at Dominican University in February 2007 for the PsiChi Society Awards Ceremony.
Karlene co-presented at the 2009 conference in Salt Lake City, UT; and the 2011 conference in Honolulu, HI. She also co-presented at the National University Performance Psychology Conference in 2012 and 2013. Karlene is the author of the book, Winning the Mental Way: A practical guide to team building and mental training and is currently working on co-authoring a book chapter on peer consultation.
She enjoys traveling and cooking in her spare time.
