Gibson Scheid, MBA, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the MBA program at John F. Kennedy University. She has considerable managerial experience working in the financial services industry, where she led marketing, investment education and finance functions. In 2001 she left her Vice President, Marketing position with Charles Schwab, to begin a teaching at the graduate level and providing career transition services to adults through her career counseling practice, gibsonworks.com.
As a scholar-practitioner, Gibson looks for ways to combine theory and practice in the classroom. She believes in engaging students in the learning process and feels that experiential learning is often the best way to do so. Her academic areas of expertise include: Design Thinking, Organizational and Personal Transformations and the Future Workplace.
Gibson has been an Adjunct Advisor at the University of California, Berkeley; an Adjunct Faculty member at the College for Financial Planning/Golden Gate University; and has created a number of training and educational programs for Fortune 500 corporations.
