Douglas C. Haldeman, Ph.D., is Professor and Chair of the Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology. He brings over 30 years of experience as a practitioner, educator, scholar and developer of social policy to his work at JFK University. He was a clinical instructor in the University of Washington PhD Psychology program and has worked for the Federal Aviation Administration for 28 years as psychological evaluator.
Dr. Haldeman lectures widely in the United States and Europe to both professional groups and academic institutions on the relationship between mental and behavioral health and a multicultural society. The focus of his lectures and numerous scholarly publications is to bring psychology into the public arena to educate, improve people’s lives, address health disparities, and speak to the needs of culturally marginalized groups.
Dr. Haldeman is also active in legislative and organizational work. He has consulted for both businesses and state legislatures. In addition, he serves on the council of the American Psychological Association (APA) where he has also been on the Board of Directors and numerous committees.
