CNS5830 Ecopsychology as Cultural Work

Course Description

This course situates the contemporary environmental movement within a wider historical perspective. It provides an overview of the environmental movement, the environmental justice movement, and examines various perspectives on the construction of the human-nature relationship, including social ecology, ecopsychology and deep ecology. It equips the ecologically-minded cultural leader to engage in ecocultural education beyond the usual discourse of conservation by incorporating a holistic, systems perspective. Students may also engage in creating and promoting earth-conscious community practices. Online course.
