JFK University’s Sunnyvale Community Counseling Center provides high-quality mental health services at affordable rates. It is a safe, confidential place to receive personal counseling and find support.  The center is staffed by mature graduate students from the Counseling Psychology programs in the College of Graduate and Professional Studies who are supervised by professionals licensed in clinical psychology, marriage and family therapy, and social work.

Adults, children, couples and families can receive counseling for a wide variety of issues, including:

  • Parent education
  • Therapeutic groups
  • School-related issues
  • Alcohol and drug problems
  • Life transitions
  • Family conflicts
  • Divorce
  • Grief
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Incest and abuse
  • Sexuality

Appointments are available weekdays or evenings (we cannot accommodate walk-ins), and the center is wheelchair accessible. Fees are on a sliding scale; however, third-party payments cannot be accepted.

Referrals will be made to other agencies for individuals who are acutely suicidal, potentially violent, suffering from severe psychiatric illness, or actively abusing drugs or alcohol.

Staff
Counseling at the Centers is provided by caring, mature graduate students from the Counseling Psychology program in JFK University's College of Graduate and Professional Studies. Counseling trainees and interns are supervised by professionals licensed in clinical psychology, marriage and family therapy and social work.

Fees
Fees are on an affordable, sliding-scale; however, third-party payments cannot be accepted.
