Socrates Now

Pleasant Hill - Main University Campus 100 Ellinwood Way
Pleasant Hill, CA 94523-4817

November 1, 2016 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

John F. Kennedy University proudly presents Socrates Now. A dramatic solo performance by Emmy Award winning actor Yiannis Simonides of Elliniko Theatro of New York and Athens.

Socrates Now is the theatrical depiction of Plato’s Apology of Socrates, the firsthand dramatic account of the speech delivered by Socrates as he faced trial for impiety and corruption of the youth in 399 BCE.

Sit in the audience with your other “jurors” and hear the philosopher address his accusers with wit, logic and the courage of his ideals.

A discussion with the actor follows the performance.

This program is presented in English and runs 80 minutes without intermission.
