Celebration of 30 Years of Holistic Studies with featured presenters Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen and Dr. Larry Dossey
John F. Kennedy University is proud to celebrate 30 years of bringing holistic perspectives to the study of counseling psychology, health education, integral perspectives, consciousness studies, and art. Over time our cutting-edge programs, and the faculty and students in them, have contributed to transforming thought and practice in the larger world.
On Saturday, April 10, at our Pleasant Hill campus, our two-day celebration continues with the following presentations:
1-1:15 p.m. Welcome
1:15-3 p.m. Panel on Jung’s Red Book
A panel discussion of the relevance of this unique document for our time, with commentary on what the book's contents might mean for the future of depth psychology, the exploration of human consciousness, and the ongoing inquiry into the deep movements and currents in the collective mind.
3-3:30 p.m. Break; Garden tour and Art slideshow
3:30-5:00 p.m. Keynote
"Spirituality, Consciousness, & Healing: What Does the Future Hold?"
with Dr. Larry Dossey
Since time immemorial, the most fundamental factor in healing has been considered to be consciousness itself. For nearly two centuries, however, consciousness has been almost excluded as a meaningful issue in medicine. The future of healthcare must reclaim the traditions of consciousness and spirituality, or we shall falter badly.
Join Dr. Dossey as he reviews experiments and studies showing the power of healing intentions and prayer and a new image of consciousness, in which it is “non-local” unconfined to the brain and body, as well as unconfined in space and time – a view that has profound implications for the venerable idea of the soul, and for the immortality of some aspects of who we are.
