University Receptionist –
John F. Kennedy University, Pleasant Hill, CA. This is a 20 hour per week position with no benefits. The hours are Monday – Thursday 5pm – 10pm. This position manages the switchboard for the Pleasant Hill campus and is the ‘welcoming face’ of the University to students, faculty, staff and others who come to the campus. The University Receptionist provides information about the University, its programs, campuses and events by phone, via online chat, and in person, as well as provides directions and transportation information.
The position also works with the Building Services department to provide assistance and response to security issues and emergency situations and provides support to Admissions and other University departments as needed. Punctuality and good multi-tasking skills are required.
This position requires a high school diploma, but an Associate’s degree is preferred. Strong customer service skills using diplomacy and tact are a must. The ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills and have a calm, professional, and pleasant demeanor. In addition, the individual must be able to type with computer-proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
