Program Chair History of Conflict

The College of Graduate Studies seeks a Program Chair, Core Faculty for the BA/MA in The History of Conflict who will be responsible for building and overseeing this program. The work includes: recruiting new students; hiring adjunct faculty members; developing new program and certificate programs; developing an advisory committee; holding program-specific faculty meetings and providing professional development to faculty; serving as liaison with the College of Graduate Studies in matters concerning the program; solidifying program learning outcomes, undergoing a five-year program review, and implementing findings. In addition, the Chair is responsible for teaching, student mentoring, and participating in university activities.


The ideal candidate will have a doctoral degree; three to five years of academic experience; three to five years of experience teaching in a history program, specifically military history; proficiency with online teaching; strong organizational skills and self-motivation; knowledge of military and veteran populations; commitment to diversity; excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; ability and desire to work with students, faculty and the academic community.
